The Harbourview Hotel engaged Deep River IT to upgrade and modernise its entire IT and telecoms infrastructure. The goal was to enhance performance, strengthen security, and introduce innovative communication tools to improve both guest experience and internal operations.
Following a full assessment of the existing systems, Deep River IT designed a tailored upgrade to the hotel’s Managed IT network and infrastructure. This included the rollout of a secure, high-speed WiFi network across the property, with dedicated guest access to ensure seamless connectivity for visitors while maintaining strict separation from internal business systems. A 1000Mb full fibre internet connection was also deployed, delivering fast, reliable bandwidth to support high guest demand and operational systems.
A fully hosted phone system was implemented to modernise communications across all departments, providing flexibility and improved call handling. In addition, Deep River IT introduced Omnichat, an advanced hotel communication platform built on WhatsApp Business technology. This allows the hotel to engage with guests in real-time, manage enquiries efficiently, and deliver a more personalised customer experience.
To support day-to-day operations, new IT equipment was supplied and configured for staff, ensuring improved performance and reliability. Security was a key priority, with the deployment of an enterprise-grade firewall and advanced antivirus protection across all devices and network layers. This robust cybersecurity framework helps protect sensitive guest and business data from evolving threats.
Cloud technologies were also integrated into the solution, including Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint for secure file sharing and collaboration. Cloud backup solutions were implemented to ensure data is securely stored and easily recoverable, supporting business continuity and compliance.
