The Royal School Dungannon management viewed our Geovision Access control system at another large school. Subsequently, Deep River was tasked with installing a new access control system for their boarding department. Phase 1 of this project will secure around 32x doors both internal and external to protect the boarding students over a large complicated building in use 7 days a week. Installing access control for teenage students always presents a different set of challenges from that of adults! We are happy to provide a system which has been tried and tested in multiple locations over the last 10 years and has integrated very well.
The access control would secure the door using a mix of different lock types and styles, including a number of doors which would have access control on both sides. A number of these doors would also have a CCTV camera attached which would take a photo or short video when a door was accessed for later verification. This allows the school to match a face to a card or user should an incident occur at any time.
Students and staff use a variety of access cards, wrist bands and fobs to access doors and features controlled from 2 central points. These doors are also controlled via an app to allow greater remote management of the system.
At the same time the school requested that the WIFI system be upgraded and secured. We installed 18x Ubiquiti access points around the school including a number of Ubiquiti managed switches and a new firewall and content monitoring system. We worked to install a new 1000mb FTTP (Full Fibre) internet connection to greatly increase the speed and stability of the WIFI for staff and students. Following this we now maintain and monitor this for client to ensure content monitoring is in place and full coverage around the campus is being achieved.
Deep River are pleased to have been chosen to install Phase 2 of this project which will provide access control to the main school campus and extend the WIFI to additional buildings.
